Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026This policy explains how Ashton Fitness ("we", "I") collects and uses your personal information when you use this website or get in touch. Ashton Fitness is a personal training and online coaching business operating in Durham and Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. I take your privacy seriously and only collect what I genuinely need.
What I collect and why
Enquiry form. When you submit an enquiry, I collect your name, phone number, email address, preferred training location, goal, and anything you choose to write in the message box. I use this to respond to your enquiry and arrange your consultation. That's it. The lawful basis for this is legitimate interest: you've asked me to contact you, and I need these details to do so.
If you become a client. I'll collect further information needed to coach you safely and effectively, such as training history, relevant health information, and progress records. I'll explain this to you directly when you sign up, and health information is only ever collected with your explicit consent.
Client photos. Transformation photos shown on this website are used only with the written consent of each client. Any client can withdraw that consent at any time and their photos will be removed.
What I don't do
- I don't sell or rent your information to anyone
- I don't add you to marketing lists without asking you first
- I don't send spam or cold messages
- This website doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies
Who else touches your data
Form processing. Enquiry form submissions are delivered to me by a form processing service, which briefly handles your details in order to email them to me.
Fonts. This site's typefaces are hosted on our own web hosting, so no font requests are sent to Google or any other third party when the page loads.
Instagram. Links to Instagram take you to Instagram's platform, where Meta's privacy policy applies. I don't control what they collect there.
How long I keep it
Enquiry details are kept for up to 12 months so I can pick up the conversation if you come back, then deleted. Client records are kept for the duration of coaching and for a reasonable period afterwards for legitimate business and legal purposes, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- Ask me to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask me to delete your information
- Object to or restrict how I use it
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis for processing
To exercise any of these, just get in touch using the details below. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
