Where we train: Hii Club Gosforth

Hii Club gym in Gosforth, Newcastle, where Ashton coaches her personal training clients

Hii Club, Gosforth

Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne

Hii Club is a boutique gym, not a chain. What that means for you: a proper free weights area with the racks and platforms a real strength programme needs, strong lower body and glute equipment, and a floor you can train seriously on without feeling watched. It is the kind of gym where the women I coach stop feeling like they are borrowing the weights area and start feeling like it is theirs.

It sits in Gosforth in the north of the city, close to the Great North Road and the A1, and within reach of the Metro. That makes early sessions before work and late ones after it realistic, which is most of the battle.

Who I train in Gosforth

Most of my Gosforth clients live locally or come in from the places that make Gosforth the easy option: Kingston Park, Jesmond, Wideopen, Ponteland, Great Park and the top end of the city. What they have in common is a goal that years of cardio and dieting never delivered.

You'll recognise yourself here

  • Beginners who want to lift but feel out of place in the weights area
  • Cardio-and-diet veterans who have done years of both and still are not happy with their shape
  • Glute and physique goals: shape and strength, not just a lighter number on the scale
  • Busy professionals and shift workers who need a plan that survives a real week
  • Women in their 40s and 50s who have been told to "just walk more" and want a better answer

I worked NHS shifts for six years before becoming a PT full time, so "my schedule makes it impossible" is a problem I have solved for myself as well as for clients.

What I coach

Strength training

The big lifts, done properly and progressed on purpose. Strength is what changes your shape, your bone density and how you walk into a room.

Fat loss and body composition

Enough food to fuel your training and still lose fat steadily. Not 1,200 calories and a treadmill. How it actually works.

Muscle building

Glutes, legs, back and shoulders, built with a programme and the food to grow on. And no, you will not get bulky.

Confidence in the gym

The first weights session is far less daunting with a coach beside you who has been exactly where you are. Read this if nerves are the barrier.

How training with me works

Free consultation at Hii Club

Come and see the gym. A proper conversation about your goal, your week and what has got in the way before. No obligation and no sales script.

A programme written for you

Built around your goal, your experience, the days you can actually train, and anything you tell me about injuries or health.

Coached sessions

Technique first, then load. Every rep coached, so you build the movement pattern properly before we start adding weight.

Nutrition without the guilt

Calorie and protein targets that fit your life, using food you enjoy. The 80/20 approach rather than restriction.

Tracked, reviewed, adjusted

Your weights get logged and reviewed. Seeing the numbers climb is what keeps you going while the mirror catches up.

Why women in Gosforth choose a female PT

What actually changes

  • Walking in is easier. The first weights session is far less daunting with a coach who has been exactly where you are
  • Female physique goals are the specialism. Glutes, shape and strength, programmed on purpose rather than as an afterthought
  • Your cycle gets accounted for. Strength, energy and appetite shift across the month, and your plan works with that
  • No diet culture. I coach against food guilt, because I have been through the fad diet cycle myself
  • Mental health taken seriously. Six years as an NHS Occupational Therapist in mental health shapes how I coach

Personal training in Gosforth: your questions

Where exactly do you train in Gosforth?

At Hii Club, a boutique gym in Gosforth in the north of Newcastle, with a proper free weights area and strong lower body and glute equipment. I will send you the address and parking details when you book a consultation.

How much does a personal trainer in Gosforth cost?

It depends on how often you train and whether you buy a block, which works out cheaper per session. I give exact numbers on the free consultation. There is an honest guide to North East pricing on this site.

Do I need to be a Hii Club member?

Yes, for sessions there. I will explain the membership side on the consultation so there are no surprises.

I live in Kingston Park / Jesmond / Ponteland. Is Gosforth easy to get to?

That is most of my Gosforth clients. Kingston Park and Ponteland come in off the A1; Jesmond, Heaton and the city centre come up the Great North Road or on the Metro.

Do you train men?

I coach women only, in person and online.

What if I am a complete beginner?

Then you are exactly who I coach best. Technique first, then load. Every rep coached. If nerves are the issue, my guide to gym anxiety is a good place to start.

Can I train with a friend?

Yes. Semi-private sessions cost less each and a lot of women find the first few weeks easier with someone they know alongside them.

Do you offer online coaching as well?

Yes, anywhere in the UK. Plenty of women do a block in person at Hii Club to learn the lifts, then move online for the programming and weekly check-ins.
